Cassandra Gillens lives in the Low Country of South Carolina, an area she cherishes.  Being closely connected with the people and culture of this beautiful and  historic land, her paintings depict some of her fondest childhood memories and also of good old Southern living.  In this wonderfully colorful image, a mother and her young daughter share a few loving moments.  As this doting mother combs her young one's hair, she chats on the telephone.  As the adorable little girl looks up, perhaps she is hearing what the latest is on the "Hotline."
