The Shepherd of Life never leaves the side of His children. Even the shadow of death is but a temporary illusion. These dark periods are represented by the rugged terrain and dark shadows of the valley. But, always in the background, there is the Lord and His provision for us represented here by the waterfall and the Great Shepherd , which is hidden within this painting, as He leads His flock through the dark valley below. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” JOHN 10:29
